Weaverville, NC, February 27, 2007- Annmarie Edwards sponsor of the "Every Woman Contest," extends contest until March 31, 2007, by giving busy women who want to write-but can't get started more time (http://everywomancontest.blogspot.com).
“I feel extremely blessed to be a woman in the 21st century. I am living in a time when a woman can run for president, be governor of states and head bishops of churches” Jackie F.W., GA contestant.
The "Every Woman Contest," gives women 18 years of age and older who are residents of the United States an opportunity to express themselves as a contributor to the world.
"I am 67 years old and want to live another 67 years, but I know thats now possible. Being my age in this century is the best and the worst. I grew up in the 50's nieve, a prim and proper little girl. Now I can live, learn and enjoy all the marvels of inventions, hip hop, and day to day miracles." -Andrea B., FL, contestant.
“The inspiration for the contest came to me one night as I was preparing for bed,” say Edwards. “The image of a woman appeared to me in the bedroom curtain, and I painted her the next day. The feeling of empowering women stayed with me after I painted the picture. It appeared that the image I painted brought forth a message for women to empower themselves. This image represents "every woman."
Women over the ages have been suppressed and treated with indignity. This contest provides a conduit for women to take back their creative form and express their true self in an enlightening way. Women need to take charge of their future by becoming more vocal. As such, the "Every Woman Contest" provides the forum for women to speak their mind in a non-judgemental way.
Edwards was chosen by the spirit world as a messenger to bring forth the empowerment of women during this period. There is a paradigm shift on earth, which is moving towards the feminine energy. To that end, women need to shift their belief system and become more aware of their role in this great universe in bringing balance to the world.
The spirit world insists that women everywhere begin to form a unifying force in celebration of self and achievement of others. According to Annmarie Edwards, "women need to bridge the gap and take away boundaries. It is time for women to celebrate feminity for what it is in a non-judgmental way."
